The Empire State Building in New York

The Empire State Building is one of the most famous skyscrapers in the world; it was the world's tallest building for more then forty years from 1931-1972 . The Empire State Building has been named by the American Society of Civil Engineers, as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World .It is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in New York City.Gregory Johnson designed The Empire State Building. The Empire State Building rises to 1,250 feet at the 102nd floor. This Building was the first building to have more than 100 floors. the Empire State Building has 73 elevators in all, including service elevators.

In May 1, 1931 The Empire State Building was opened. This building not only became an icon of New York City, it became a symbol of twentieth century man's attempts to achieve the impossible. The Empire State Building has one of the most popular outdoor observatories in the world, having been visited by over 110 million people. 3.5 million people visit the 86th floor observatory every year. Tourists may pay to visit the observation. The observation tower at the top of the Empire State Building was originally intended to be a dock for mooring airships. However, after several futile attempts at mooring a zeppelin in the strong winds present at 1250 feet, the idea was scrapped. The top of the Empire State Building is lit up at night in different colors to celebrate various holidays.

The Statue Of Liberty:

The Statue of Liberty was a gift to the United States from the people of France over one hundred years ago in recognition of the friendship established during the American Revolution. The formal name of The Statue of Liberty is “Liberty Enlightening the World”. Located in New York, 151 feet tall, the Statue of Liberty symbolizes freedom throughout the world. Frederic Bartholdi was the architect of the Statue of Liberty.

The statue, made of copper sheets with an iron framework, depicts a woman escaping the chains of despotism, which lie at her feet. Her right hand holds aloft a burning torch that represents liberty. Her left hand holds a tablet inscribed with the date "July 4, 1776" (in Roman numerals), the day the United States declared its independence from England. Ellis Island is the island near to the statue in New York harbor.

Visitors climb 354 steps to reach the crown or 192 steps in order to reach the top of the pedestal. There are 25 windows in the crown which symbolize 25 gemstones found on the earth.

Jatiyo Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka

Parliament house, Shangshad Bhaban is located at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.It was designed by the famous American architect Luis Kahn. It is a fabulous structure. It houses all parliamentary activities of Bangladesh. Construction of the Jatiya Shangshad Bhaban began in 1961 by the Government of Pakistan.The total area of the Shangshad Bhaban are 200 acres.The Parliament Chamber is the most important part of the Main Plaza. The Main Plaza is 823,000 square feet. This have also two podiums and two galleries for VIP Only the Jatiyo Sangshad complex is open to visitors. The Main Building is limited to authorized members of Parliament and staff. Shangshad Bhaban area is the most security zones of Dhaka.

Lalbagh Fort in Bangladesh

It was built by Prince Mohammad Azam in 1678 A.D. It is situeted south of Azimpur, and right north of Buriganga river.Here you can see tomb of Pari Bibi , Lalbagh Mosque, Audience Hall Nd the main museum.You can visit here by bus,texi,rickshwy or cng.It is closed on Saturday.Otherwise it is open all the day.It is open at 10 am-5pm.
